Fire & Water - Cleanup & Restoration

Well Done Food in a Clayton Kitchen

The flames leaped up from the stovetop frying pan, and the grease fire was exasperated by the cook throwing water on the fire. We recommend having a foam type fire extinguisher under the sink for just such emergencies. There was no burnt or destroyed cabinets or items, but the wet smoke from the fire did leave a mess. Our SERVPRO technicians wiped down the area to remove most of the residue. The popcorn ceiling was wiped down only using a dry sponge as best we could. Too much moisture will ruin the surface of this type of ceiling.  We sent a tech back the following day when all had settled down and painted a special primer to help mask any stray odor particles and to prevent bleed through and staining of the finish coat, yet to be applied. We packed out some of the customer's wall hangings and other items for a cleaning at our facility. The final result was "Like it never even happened."
